Flu Shots at Stoneridge Mall in California

WellCheck Medical Centers in Danville, CA are bringing health care to a number of shopping center owned and/or managed by Simon Property Group Inc. The Flu Defense Clinic at Stoneridge Shopping Center began yesterday, and will run each weekend through to the end of the month while supplies last for seasonal flu, pneumonia and H1N1.

Seasonal flu vaccinations will cost $30 per dose, pneumonia vaccinations will be $50, and vaccines for H1N1 are expected by mid-October, subject to the government’s release of the vaccine, with the cost to be determined soon. Those interested can pay by cash, check, and credit/debit cards. Medicare and some private insurance will be accepted. The seasonal flu vaccine is available for anyone over 2 years of age.

Laura Scott, executive director of Families Fighting Flu, says that parents should not underestimate the seriousness of seasonal influenza, as it kills nearly 100 American children under age 5 each year and hospitalizes 20,000 young children annually.
