Mall Expansion Anticipated
Robinsons Land Corporation has announced plans to open four more malls in the next five months as it focuses in an overall strategic attempt to expand its mall chain across provinces.
In an interview, RLC president Frederick Go said they will open their mall in General Santos City in September and this will raise the firm’s commercial center net leasable space by 10 percent as of the end of fiscal year ending September 2009.
RLC also opened malls in Davao City and Tacloban recently and, together with the General Santos City mall, these adds 71,000 square meters in net leasable area to the Robinsons mall chain.
Meanwhile, RLC has just launched the redevelopment of its property in Pasig City from initial plans of a pocket townhouse cluster into an 80-unit condiminium community worth P586 million.
Originally planned to be a high-end townhouse called Vimana Private Residences, RLC decided to redraw plans for the lot acquired from Banco de Oro into the condominium development called Vimana Verde after the townhouses were deemed too expensive to develop considering the value of the land.
